School Rules

A positive school climate — where everyone feels welcome, respected and safe — is essential for learning. Our binding ground rule is “Respect for everyone.”

Dress etiquette
  • Girls may not wear fancy watches, hair clips, jewellery, nail polish, anklets or henna.
  • Only the footwear specified with the uniform is allowed.
  • No informal dress on birthdays.
  • Grades 1 – 7 girls: white socks or stockings only.
  • Grades 1 – 7 boys: checked shorts or checked trousers only.
  • Scarves only as recommended by the school.
  • Hair accessories — Grades 1 – 4 girls: red; Grades 5 – 7 girls: black.
  • Boys must have a decent haircut; no dyed or streaked hair.
School code
  • Be on time every day — regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Wear a clean, neatly pressed uniform and the school ID card daily.
  • Take care of school property; damage must be made good.
  • Abusive language, misbehaviour, pushing, kicking or hitting will lead to strict action.
  • No gifts to teachers except those sanctioned by the Principal.
  • No visitors or phone calls for students unless the school deems it necessary.
  • Mobile phones are strictly prohibited and will be confiscated.
  • No cameras, CDs, tablets, slam books, magazines or comics.
  • English is the language of the school — students and parents are urged to communicate in English.
  • Late arrivals are admitted only with permission of the Principal or coordinators.
  • No student may leave during school hours except with a parent.
  • Every student takes part in games and activities unless exempted by the Principal.
Leave policy
  • 95% attendance is expected.
  • Leave must be requested in writing to the Principal, with the reason.
  • A parent’s note is required on return; a medical certificate for illness over three days.
  • PE exemptions need a doctor’s certificate approved by the Principal.
  • Attendance on the first and last day of every term is compulsory.
  • Unaccounted absence may lead to the name being struck off the rolls.
Responsibilities of parents
  • Support your child’s attendance, punctuality, discipline and academic work.
  • Check and sign the school diary daily.
  • Ensure a clean uniform, neat socks and polished shoes.
  • Attend school functions — both parents are encouraged to participate.
  • Keep your contact details up to date.

All parents are expected to read and accept these rules. Parents who do not accept them should inform the management in writing.
