How we teach
Lessons are built around objective-based activities that make students do as they learn. Learning objectives help each learner understand what they will do with what they have learnt, and set individual pathways and priorities. Learning draws on textbooks, digital resources and research projects, with authentic experiences matched to each learning style.
Assessment is formative throughout kindergarten and primary, and a combination of formative and summative assessment in the middle years. We measure not only knowledge, but the ability to apply it to real situations, reflect critically and communicate results.
Competency at MJS is a cluster of knowledge, skills and attitudes. The classroom is the training ground, with regular practice in problem solving and critical thinking.
Beyond the textbook

Smart classes & computer lab
Technology-enhanced classrooms let teachers use online resources and the school’s own content server, making difficult topics easier to understand.

Arts & craft
Pencil shading, 3D drawing, watercolours and acrylic painting are part of the regular programme. Students help create props and backdrops for Annual Day, Independence Day, Republic Day and Sports Day.
